Old people in
the family are like Abraham in the Book of Genesis. (Gen 18:20-22). Abraham
pleaded to God for mercy against his punishment to the People of Sodom and
Gomorrah for their wrong doings. God agreed to save them if there is at least
10 just people.
They did not receive mercy because there was no enough preparation in them not even the minimum.
The old and sick
people in our families are praying to God for us like Abraham in the Old
Testament. We suffer a lot, spend a lot and face problems because of them. But
they are like Abraham to Sodom. They pray to God for the family. They have lot
of time to pray. They are our spiritual supporters and resources. So also if
the family are not prepared they may not receive blessings from God like just
like Sodom and Gomorroah.
